at this point, all I can say is that the meeting went very well. Oliver Colvile has agreed with my plans and propositions, and had many more positive points and ideas of his own to add. I need time to assimilate all the information and what has happened, but I am really pleased. I feel that I was taken very seriously, dealt with carefully and compassionately. But my brain feels completely numb and I need time to think. Much love x
I'm thrilled you felt strong enough to take this to him, and inspired by your blog yesterday and in total admiration that you put one foot in front of the other every day - xxxxx
Hi, I found you last night via Froogs and wanted to hold (and kiss) your hand via the comments. Unfortunately we went offline cos The FW (if you read me you'll find out what that means - larf) hadn't paid the bill!!!! My bloggie is Dollyclothespeg, I was going to write about my depression but have lost my motivation and there are lots of other reasons, blah blah. I find that I 'write' great stuff in the shower or out walking and then don't get the privacy or chance to 'follow through', but I am going to try. Bless you and hold on, please. Susan x
While (as an American) I am unsure what or who an MP is; I am happy to hear that you were dealt with in the caring and compassionate method you deserve. May this be just the first step, finally trod on level ground, toward your recovery. Hold strong and know that we care...
Hi - congratulations for today - that must have taken some doing. There is a huge amount of people who have been silent for too long. With love and respect for your approach. Laura xx
I read some of your posts last night. I'm thrilled that your meeting went well. I hope you can see what incredible strength you have demonstrated, and i hope you can continue to draw on that strength going forward. Bloody well done!!!
froogs sent me over ......and im glad she did ...i know from reading lots of your posts that you can do this ..with us all behind you .xx you are brave you are inspiring and believe it or not you are stronger than you think x
Hope you don't mind me stopping by. I found your blog via Frugal Queen and felt moved to follow your site. Glad the meeting went well, and will continue to stop by to see how you're doing.
Hi, glad to hear you managed to meet with your MP and that it went well. Will be reading your older posts with interest. (As someone who also suffers discrimination due to anxiet attacks I'm interested.)
It takes great strength and courage to talk and put your case forward to your MP. I am glad it went well. Froogs asked us to pop by and give messages of support. xx
I read most of your blog last night after seeing a post on Froogs blog. I I amazed you are still standing, you are a lot braver than you think. My heart goes out to you and I do hope you get a result from your MP. Will pop by and let you know there are poeple out there who care xx
Well done. I have lived with mental illness since I was a teen (bipolar in my case) and I know the toll it takes. I read about your ordeal with the police, and I wanted to say how totally sorry I am that you went through that. Here in Canada we have some non-medical houses you can go to if you are in crisis, perhaps there is something like that near you. There are also "clubhouses" -- non-residential programs run by people with mental illness -- http://www.iccd.org/ -- worth looking into? Are you working with a CPN or anyone like that, someone who can help you navigate the system? Okay, enough with the questions... time for a big, safe hug!!!! I think those of us who struggle with mental health issues are some of the strongest people out there... you included.... I hope you can hang on to that. All the best, C.
Well done! you are one brave soul. Not enough is done for folk suffering with mental health problems,or their carers. The attitude towards mental health is to ignore it and it may go away, so congratulations for actually making someone listen. Good luck to you and lots of love. I found your blog via Froogs. X
Read your whole blog in one sitting after having visited Froogs' website yesterday as well. Honestly, hats off to you! I just left a horrible job after eight years of severe psychic abuse - yes, it took me that long to finally realize that my boss was doing me wrong. So in some way, I can relate to each and every word I read, but I am in no way as brave as you are. I adore you for your strength, for being so straightforward, for sharing, for the wit and humour you have kept nonetheless, and most of all your determination to make a change! Even though I do not know you, I want you to know that you are truly great in your own way. As I am pretty sure she will read this, I want to thank Froogs for introducing you to the world - you deserve to be heard, to be taken serious and - most of all - to be loved. I know I do. A million hugs from Germany!
Wow, all you people! So so so many thanks to you all. Actually, the only way I have ever been able to cope was to write, but now, for a month, I have been doing so publically (via blog),and it has become more than cathartic, it has become healing, because of you lot x x x x x x x THANK YOU X X X X X
10Hi, found your blog via froogs, and am sending warm understanding thoughts and thanks aswell for being so open in sharing your life living with mental illness. So many of us suffer silently and reading your blog will help so many people but in addition you have brought the lack of understanding by certain authorities to the forecourt in meeting with your MP. I take my hat off to you and will follow your blog with much interest, but at mo am sending lots of love and hugs!!!!!!!!
Just popped by to say Hello and send you love and big hugs. Like many of the your other posters, I came here, as Froogs sent me and she is someone who always inspires us and shares such amazing things with us. A friend of Froogs is a friend of ours. My friend has Bipolar and I know the battles she goes through. I think you have shown great strength and would just like you to know our thoughts and support are with you. With love. KittyBoo
I have suffered from depression since having my children 14 years ago. It is a silent illness that can literally make you "want to die". I often joke that I should do a Thelma and Louise. I salute your fight, drive and commitment. By doing what you are doing it is helping so many. Thank you x x
I felt very disturbed when i read your blog, i dont understand why you go into detail about the self harm you inflict on yourself,or about the medication and alcohol abuse. I suffered many years of abuse from my ex,i escaped but at the cost of loosing my two girls. I suffer from depression but have got to get on with my life. I hold down a full time job as a qualified nhs hospital nurse. I dont inflict my troubles on others, i have no family, no friends but i am alive.I feel that you appear to be attention seeking, tell me, how do you afford to run a car, smoke and drink when you only receive DLA. I know how, it thanks due to the tax payer that you are able to wollow in your own self pity.
If you can't find something supportive to say...then say nothing. The poster did not specifically "ask" you to read her blog so maybe it would be better if you don't. Think back to the times when you were suffering...I'm sure a kick in the teeth was the last thing you wanted, or needed. It is apparent by your post that you are still in need of support yourself...maybe you can find another blog where you can get the help you need. Maybe another blog can ease your apparent pain. I hope you find what you need.
Isabelle - Please take this poster's comments with a grain of salt...please focus on those people who truly hope to see your health improve.
I read some of your posts and just want to say that you are very courageous for sharing your story with us. Reading about how it is for you has helped me understand mental illness at a deeper level. Many Thanks. Take Care & Stay self x
Many thanks to you all x Hmmm, anonymous of 18:01, my absolute sympathy and sadness that you have been through such an awful time. I am so pleased that you are well enough to manage to work through it all. I am a qualified teacher, so we are both in caring professions, I think it helps. But, please don't look at this blog again, I can understand how for some it would be very unhelpful to read of anothers pain. Check out the disclaimer, if you don't like it, dont read it. Thankfully, my writing helps other people and me, so I will carry on. Much love, peace and safety to you :o)

Hello. Like some of the others, I came via Froogs, and would like to wish you well. You are one courageous lady. Hugs and stuff, Deborah x
